Getting a stroller in and out of the car, packing the nappy bag, anticipating a meltdown in a crowded space, these are all reasons you may not want to head out of the door and just stay home.
But for your sanity and coffee cravings, here is our list for where is worth the trouble in the cosmopolitan city of Dubai.
1. Tom and Serg
Our first and foremost reason for this cafe is the coffee is great – we get that if you are going to go out, the coffee needs to be worth it. Parking is roadside, you can usually get a park along the front strip of the cafe or park around the corner outside Ace Hardware. The kids area in this Dubai cafe is perfect for 1-5 year olds, with books, toys and a kids menu for the slightly older kids that has everything you need, the required pancakes and red pasta cover the key bases!

2. Reform Social and Grill
Social by name, social by nature. This is the perfect place to meet with friends, there is also a supermarket within the same building so you can collect the days essentials at the same time. You can watch your young ones crawl around on the grass and enjoy the late afternoon weather before the witching hour hits.

3. Lime Tree Cafe
A longtime Dubai favourite cafe, there are seven branches across the city. Our favourite is the Sheikh Zayed Road branch as it has one of the best stocked kids play areas of any of the cafes in Dubai. The kids menu has all of the favourites and they also cater kids parties.

4. Adventure Parx and Cafe
This cafe will entertain yours or your friends older children with slides, rock climbing (not too high), a climbing area and a mini ropes course. It is one of those hidden gems that people who live in the area try to keep to themselves. The cafe is right beside the play area so you can sit and chat while the kids run back and forth asking you to watch them play!

5. Casette
Good music, dog friendly, good food and near gift shops and above all, a wide open space where strollers can comfortably sit beside the table. This is a great cafe for mums with newborns who want to feel they have their life back and catch up with friends, or even go out, take a book or your iPad and relax with a coffee while the baby sleeps. It has a good vibe all day long, and the breakfast menu is also substantial.
